Roadshows

The concept of conducting ‘travelling roadshows’ to communicate key issues surrounding the project and to demonstrate the project resources was an idea that came out of Reference Group meetings during the Journalism in Multicultural Australia (JMA) Project. Members of the National Steering Committee have during the course of this project conducted face-to-face briefings with journalism educators, newsroom representatives and community organisations across Australia.

The aims of the roadshows have been to:

• communicate the philosophies underpinning the project;
• demonstrate the resources in a face-to-face interactive manner so that any queries from educators can be addressed on the spot; and
• receive feedback from educators ‘at the coalface’ which can contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the resources.
