National Steering Committee
Committee Structure
The Reporting Diversity Project was a partnership between a number
of universities and media organisations across Australia. Several
committees have been formed since the commencement of the project
in August 2005 as a way to:
- facilitate communication between the partner organisations in order
to achieve the key objectives of the project; and
- provide a consultation mechanism between the project members and key
stakeholders from the media industry and community groups within Australia.
National Steering Committee
The National Steering Committee (NSC) included one or more members from
each of the project partners. The role of the Steering Committee included:
- discussing and determining the policy direction for the project,
particularly in relation to the development of the project resources;
- discussing and commenting on the draft resources;
- identifying potential members for the Community and Media Reference
Groups; and
- promoting the project to key stakeholders.
The National Steering Committee had regular face-to-face meetings
and teleconferences throughout the project. In between these meetings there was constant communication amongst
NSC members.
